Field Trip: Indiana Town Tour

Tour some of Indiana’s forgotten cities.  We'll take a trip through Paragon, Gosport, Spencer and Stinesville.  This is an amazing part of the state often overlooked.

Take a photo journey back in time on Saturday morning April 16. First stop is at 9:30 in Paragon Indiana at the corner of Border and Union Streets (one-hour drive from the Art Center).  There we will find Eddie’s outdoor flea market and a bank robbed by Dillinger 3 times.  We will then travel 20 minutes down the road to Stinesville and have a look around the old town and visit the Town Store/Post Office which is full of memorabilia. There will probably be a chess game underway for this is where the locals while away the hours.  Five minutes up the road is Big Creek Stone. We have arranged a private tour of this active limestone quarry. Then we head to Gosport stopping at the historic Ferry Bridge on the way. After shooting the sights of Gosport, we will settle in for lunch at Millie McGee's. There are 14 different pies to choose from. Having filled our SD cards and stomachs we will head home.  Best guess is that lunch will be over about 1:00. Club members only.

 >>  If interested in carpooling, meet at Walmart Neighborhood Market, 4837 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis, just south of I 465 on route 67 (aka Kentucky Ave)  8:50 a.m. to 9:00 at the south end of the parking lot. Otherwise, meet in Paragon at 9:30 to start shooting.  Will be departing Paragon at about 10:00.
