Our trip to the Peru Amateur Circus at 154 N. Broadway in Peru, Ind., has been one of the favorite trips for several years. Many of the images have been seen in the monthly competitions.
The circus consists of approximately 250 young people ages 7 to 21 from Miami County performing a multitude of circus acts. Flying and multiple trapeze, roman rings, high wire, trampoline, aerial ballet, unicycle, juggling and of course, clowns. You will be amazed at the talent of these young performers. There are no animal acts.
We have been given access to shoot from the balcony and to go behind the scenes prior to the show to observe the performers getting into costume. Friday night is family night and is a prep for the opening performance on Saturday.
EQUIPMENT: This is a low light auditorium so you will need a large f stop, f4.5, f2.8, f1.4to capture the action. A monopod or tripod is a good choice while on the balcony.
FYI - We typically return home between 11 pm and midnight.
Check in at the main entrance well ahead of the start time for a badge. This field trip is for current members only.
