From the Department of Shameless Self-Promotion: My photo show, “Channeling Nina Simone,” will be the featured exhibit this First Friday, August 6, at the Full Circle Nine Gallery in the Circle City Industrial Complex (CCIC) in Indianapolis.

“Channeling Nina Simone,” a collaboration with friend and model Zakeya Brown, features images inspired by the lyrics of songs recorded by the musician and civil rights activist. You all are invited to stop by from 6-9 pm to see the show as well as other works I’ll have on display (and for sale ).

Full Circle Nine Gallery is an artist cooperative with a broad range of styles and media on display. The CCIC is a dynamic location, full of artists, entrepreneurs, a brewpub and distillery, and the place to be on First Fridays in Indianapolis. Location: 1125 Brookside Ave., just down the street from the new Bottleworks District.

In addition to First Fridays, Full Circle Nine Gallery is open noon-4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and I’m staffing the place today. So come on by, have a look around, and get a special BTS preview as I hang my upcoming show.
