It's written in the stars or so they say. They also say a picture is worth a thousand words, so let's combine those 2 thoughts into a program on astrophotography! Join us February 9 for a presentation by club member Ron Shimanek to learn about equipment (tripods, lenses, cameras, star trackers, and miscellaneous gadgets), exposure (500 rule, NPF rule), filters, apps (weather, dark locations, star locators, photo pills - just a brief summary, wind conditions, photo stacking for noise reduction), dark locations near Indy, and Lightroom/Photoshop editing techniques. Ron will also discuss how a star tracker is set up and how it works. Depending on interest, we may schedule a future shoot at a nearby location.
"I have shot the Milky Way, Jupiter, Saturn, Neowise and of course the moon, all from 3 locations in Indiana (McCloud, Shades, and Cataract). I love technology so I enjoy the technique as much as the photos. I have 2 star trackers, many sky filters, lenses and various software and apps to select location and timing as well as to stack and edit images." - Ron Shimanek; image take at Cataract Falls.
