"From Vision to the Final Result"

“From Vision to the Final Result” is a program Scott presented to the Duneland Photography Club in Valparaiso this past November. Scott will showcase images from his favorite locations and share the story behind each one. He'll explain why he took them, his vision for the final result, and how he processed them.

Scott has been active with Photo Venture Camera Club since November of 2011. "I had just purchased my first digital camera and wanted to learn how to use all the features my camera offered. I also wanted to meet others who enjoyed photography and learn from them as well.

On my very first meeting I knew this was the club for me. Everyone greeted me and I felt comfortable from the beginning. I discovered PVCC through an internet search on local camera clubs. I enjoy the club for several reasons.

The field trips are a learning experience, and I will always remember the field trip we took to the UP of Michigan in October of 2013.  We hired Rod and Marlene Planck as tour guides and in spite of the rain, we all enjoyed the scenic north woods of Michigan. 

Other highlights of our club are the competitions and critiques. I shoot with a Canon R5 body with several lenses. My favorite lenses are my 100-400 zoom with a 1.4 extender. I also enjoy my macro lens. Both work well with my passion for nature photography. PVCC gave me the confidence to go out on my own to become a gallery member at Art IN Hand in Zionsville, as well as show and sell my images at several art fairs in the Midwest every summer.

At my shows, I encourage new photographers to join a photo club, and I always mention PVCC when talking with them. I think the best part of joining PVCC are the friends I’ve made and the many times we’ve gone out on our own photo ventures."
