General Information
The Open Lens Competition and Exhibit is a judged event and open to all photographers in the Hamilton County and all surrounding regions.
Entry categories will be Monochrome, Color, and Creative/Altered.
An image is considered to be Monochrome only if it gives the impression of having no color (i.e., contains only shades of gray which can include pure black and pure white) OR it gives the impression of being a greyscale image that has been toned in one color across the entire image (for example, by Sepia, gold, etc.). A greyscale or multi-colored image modified or giving the impression of having been modified by partial toning, multi-toning or by the inclusion of spot coloring does not meet the definition of monochrome and will be classified as a Color Work.
Entries in Monochrome and Color can be edited to improve the quality of the image and can include stitched panorama and HDR images. Accepted actions to improve the quality of the image could include spot removal, cloning out a distraction, or blending exposures together instead of using an HDR process.
The Creative/Altered category covers images heavily manipulated to change the underlying composition, images combined with textures, images of different compositions blended together and other similar post processing techniques.
